TECNALIA and TranXforma FOOD Collaborate to Drive Sustainable Transformation in the Agri-Food Sector

The partnership aims to enhance the agri-food industry ecosystem by providing training and fostering connections among various stakeholders in the value chain, with a particular focus on empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

TECNALIA and TranXforma FOOD have partnered to boost the agri-food industry ecosystem, focusing on sustainable transformation and SMEs. They signed a collaboration agreement at the Food4Future fair in Bilbao to promote innovation within the sector.

TranXforma FOOD is dedicated to driving sustainable transformation in agri-food SMEs through collaborative projects that address industry challenges.

TECNALIA, as Spain’s largest research and technological development center and a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance, collaborates globally to improve competitiveness and achieve sustainable growth. Their alliance with TranXforma FOOD expands their network and expertise.

Jesús Valero, CEO of TECNALIA, emphasizes their contribution to the partnership by leveraging knowledge and experience to invigorate the agri-food industry ecosystem, generating new business opportunities. TECNALIA will actively participate in the TranXforma FOOD Platform’s Board of Directors, assuming a mentoring role.

This collaboration aims to promote innovation, complement existing entrepreneurial instruments, and create a dynamic agri-food industry ecosystem.

A platform for innovative SMEs

TranXforma FOOD is a platform that aims to boost innovation and promote the sustainable transformation of SMEs in the agri-food industry. Through collaborative projects between SMEs and startups, they seek to address industry challenges and create new market opportunities. Led by founder and CEO José María Cobo, TranXforma FOOD utilizes a “company building” model to achieve objectives such as business model reconversion, talent retention, innovation generation, increased investment, and international positioning of the Spanish agri-food sector. They are already advancing projects in various areas, including food quality preservation, biocompostable thermoplastics, and biomass utilization from agricultural production.

La colaboración pretende impulsar el ecosistema de la industria agroalimentaria mediante la formación y la conexión de los distintos agentes de la cadena, especialmente las PYME.

TECNALIA y TranXforma FOOD se han asociado para impulsar el ecosistema de la industria agroalimentaria, apostando por la transformación sostenible y las pymes. Han firmado un acuerdo de colaboración en la feria Food4Future de Bilbao para impulsar la innovación dentro del sector.

TranXforma FOOD se dedica a impulsar la transformación sostenible de las pymes agroalimentarias a través de proyectos colaborativos que aborden los retos de la industria.

TECNALIA, como mayor centro de investigación y desarrollo tecnológico de España y miembro de la Alianza Vasca de Investigación y Tecnología, colabora globalmente para mejorar la competitividad y lograr un crecimiento sostenible. Su alianza con TranXforma FOOD amplía su red y experiencia.

Jesús Valero, Director General de TECNALIA, destaca su contribución a la alianza aprovechando el conocimiento y la experiencia para dinamizar el ecosistema de la industria agroalimentaria, generando nuevas oportunidades de negocio. TECNALIA participará activamente en el Consejo de Administración de la Plataforma TranXforma FOOD, asumiendo un papel de mentor.

Plataforma para PYMES innovadoras

TranXforma FOOD es una plataforma que pretende impulsar la innovación y promover la transformación sostenible de las pymes de la industria agroalimentaria. A través de proyectos de colaboración entre pymes y startups, buscan abordar los retos del sector y crear nuevas oportunidades de mercado. Liderada por su fundador y CEO, José María Cobo, TranXforma FOOD utiliza un modelo de “company building” para lograr objetivos como la reconversión del modelo de negocio, la retención del talento, la generación de innovación, el aumento de la inversión y el posicionamiento internacional del sector agroalimentario español. Ya están avanzando proyectos en diversas áreas, como la conservación de la calidad de los alimentos, los termoplásticos biocompostables y el aprovechamiento de la biomasa procedente de la producción agrícola.
